ℹ️ What are Teams?
The Teams feature helps you protect your data. It lets you create groups of users in the EdgeTier system and control what data they can see.
Data can be segmented and controlled by any tag group in the system. You start by choosing the main segmentation tag group, like "region" or "brand," and use the tags within that group to divide your data amongst the teams.
In the interface, you can create specific teams using tags from that group (e.g. region = west). Users in your Western team will only see interactions tagged with west.
Key Benefits:
- Improved Security: Limits full data visibility to authorised users only.
- Customisable Segmentation: Use existing tags or create new tags to segment your data according to your organisation’s needs.
- Targeted Access: Users can only access interactions relevant to their team.
More Information
- When a user logs into EdgeTier, they will only see the interactions tagged with their team's tags.
- You can switch users from one team to another, but they cannot be on two teams at once.
- You can create a larger team if needed, e.g. a “Southwest” team could be allowed to view both
south and west tags
- All searches (including interactions, agents, and messages) will automatically filter data based on the team's tags.
⚙️ Configuring Teams
Choose a Tag Group:
- Decide on an existing tag group (e.g., "markets" or "brands") that best categorizes your interactions. If none exists, we can collaborate to create a new tag type (e.g., "segments") tailored to your specific needs.
- Inform the EdgeTier team about your intention to use Teams and specify the tag group you have chosen by emailing [email protected].
- Ensure that EdgeTier receives this tag with every interaction, allowing proper categorisation and team allocation.
- We’ll configure this for you and give you access to the Teams screen.
Turn on “Manage Teams” and “Manage Users” Permissions
